How We Install Rubber Resurfacing

Rubber paving offers homeowners so much in terms of value, customization, and versatility. In fact, these are big reasons why rubber paving has become a preferred flooring solution for many homeowners. Rubber paving can be installed virtually anywhere around your home – it’s frequently installed on walkways, porches, driveways, pool decks and more! Composed from recycled materials, including rubber tires, rubber paving is an environmentally friendly substance that provides homeowners with unmatched durability and sustainability.

At Vancouver Safety Surfacing, we take pride in our ability to install rubber paving quickly and efficiently. The following article will discuss our rubber paving installation process.

Mixing the Ingredients

Before rubber paving can be installed, all of the ingredients need to be mixed. Recycled rubber from discarded tires are blended with several adhesives to create a blended pour. In this stage, colours are added into the blend to accommodate the customer’s requests.

Glue Is Added

On top of the adhesives added in the first step, the professionals at Vancouver Safety Surfacing add a special kind of glue to the mixture. This substance will ensure that all of the ingredients are held together but are still flexible enough to withstand external forces (i.e. vehicles on the driveway). Furthermore, this substance will prevent the finished product from being affected by rainwater and extreme weather conditions.

Prepare the Surface

The surface, which you will be pouring the mixture on, will need to be cleaned and primed. This process ensures that the mixture effectively adheres to your patio, driveway, walkways or pool deck!

The Pouring and Leveling Process

As soon as all of the aforementioned steps are completed, the mixture is finally ready to be installed at your home. The professionals at Vancouver Safety Surfacing will pour and spread the mixture in the intended area and then use precise tools and machinery to ensure the rubber paving is applied to manufacturer’s specifications.

Drying Process

After the mixture has been poured, it’s time to let the material dry. You may notice an odour coming from the rubber paving, but the smell will dissipate within days as it’s exposed to the air. Refrain from walking on your new rubber paving for 24 hours and do not park any vehicles on top of it for at least a week.
